Man Utd vs Everton

MANCHESTER UNITED VS EVERTON

Everton hosted Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League at Goodision Park on 26/04/15; these are the highlights.

GOAL! McCARTHY!
EVERTON MAKE IT 1-0 IN 5 MINUTES!
5'

The home team have the early start as Everton's counter-attack leaves McCarthy with three United players to beat (the keeper and two defenders) and he finishes brilliantly in a tight place.

GOAL! STONES!
EVERTON DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!
35'

This was just unlucky as the United defense clear away two of Leighton Banes' corners but in the third Stones sent a powerful shot into the corner

GOAL! MIRALLAS!
EVERTON SEAL THE VICTORY!
74'

The home team seal the win as Valencia hesitates and tried to play Lukaku offside from Barkley's through pass, only to forget about the midfielder right behind him and the Belgium calmly side-foots the ball past a helpless De Gea.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets is an exciting book- written by J.K Rowling. It is also a very famous movie. It is the sequel to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Harry Potter and his friend Ron Weasley got off to a bad start to their second year at Hogwarts as they missed the train, forcing them to use Ron's flying car- which is forbidden to be used in front of Muggles (people who cannot use magic). This made them late for school.

Later on in the year, many disasters occurred in Hogwarts. Harry's friend Hermione almost died, and many other students had died. Harry knew that all this was something to do with the Chamber of Secrets: a restricted area which is known to have a beast inside. Harry found the diary of Tom Riddle, which he found out that he could talk to Tom Riddle through the diary. He asked Tom Riddle what he knew about the Chamber of Secrets but Tom didn't reveal anything.

Then, Harry went on to explore for himself as he faced many ups and downs on the way. It is a great book!

Answer: 110 km (the next palindrome is 16061)

ARTEMIS  FOWL

This was the review he wrote as a guest blogger:

Artemis Fowl is a great read for any teenager considering being a super smart billionaire arch villain, or even any teenager who enjoys reading about super smart billionaire boy geniuses planning mega heists from the fairy folk.

That's right, fairy folk.  You see, Artemis is a very bright boy looking to restore the fortune of his family's criminal empire and rescue his father, a man kidnapped by the Russian mafia.  Smart young Artemis and Butler, his butler and bodyguard, search the world for legendary fairy gold, certain and sure that a) it can be found and b) it can be stolen!

Holly Short, Julius Root, and Foaly are two fairies and a centaur who stand between Artemis and the fairy gold.  Holly, a captain of the LEPrechaun recon division of the LEP (Lower Elements Police), flies unwittingly into Artemis's trap and sets the game afoot.

Will Holly escape the trap sprung upon her?  Will Artemis finally steal the fairy gold?  Can Short and Root prevent their treasure from being stolen by a teenage criminal mastermind?  Read this exciting book and find out!

This reviewer found himself delighted by Artemis's Fowl's first and consequent adventures.  Eoin Colfer has done a wonderful job of pulling in the reader to a world of boy masterminds, heroic fairy folk, and large sized bodyguard butlers.  Lovely characters and exciting plots and plot twists afford this book a read by all teenagers seeking adventure.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Review

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

This book (and movie) is the first of many more; it is about an 11-year-old boy whose parents were murdered by Lord Voldemort- the most evil, merciless wizard who attempted to kill Harry and his parents, using the spell: Avada Kedavra. Despite Harry's parents dying, Harry survived as when Voldemort attempted to kill him some of Voldemort's powers were transferred to Harry, leaving a scar on his face. Then, Dumbledore (the greatest wizard of all time who was also the Headmaster of Hogwarts School) gave Harry to his nasty Aunt, Uncle and his mean cousin Dudley.

10 years later, on Dudley's birthday they all went to the zoo. Before leaving, Harry's uncle brutally warned Harry that if he misbehaves in the zoo then he would be in a lot of trouble. However, when Voldemort  transferred some of his powers to Harry, one of these powers was the ability to speak to snakes in their language (Parseltoungue). So when Harry came across a snake in the zoo he without knowing started to speak to the snake. With the ability to use magic, he accidentally got rid of the glass between him and the snake-causing the snake to leave- and accidentally putting Dudley on the other side of the glass (he put the glass back). Once it had all been sorted, his Uncle locked him in a cupboard underneath the stairs and made that his bedroom.

After this, many events occurred leading Harry to a decision he had to make when a giant called Hagrid appeared in his house asking if Harry would like to come to Hogwarts School where magic was taught. Harry accepted this and from that point onwards he faced many problems including coming across Voldemort. This is a great book!

The Wall Book Reiew

THE WALL REVIEW
The Wall is an action-packed and adventure book written by William Sutcliffe was published on April 11,2013. It without doubt deserved to be shortlisted  for the Guardian Fiction Prize.

To summarise this exciting story, it is a book about a teenage boy called Joshua whose football gets kicked over -by his annoying friend David- into a site which Joshua thought was a building site. So Josh went to look for it due to the fact that it was a new ball. However, he was wrong in thinking it was just a building site; it was actually a tunnel leading him into the other side of the wall. The Wall is a wall that keeps Josh's side away from the other side. Both sides show immense animosity towards each other as they both are at war. Any one seen on the wrong side would be shot immediately. Nevertheless, Josh still headed down the tunnel and faced a colossal amount of dilemmas on the way: including being chased and Josh felt burned by a debt that he has to fight to repay. His Dad died when he was very young due to the same war that was going on when Joshua entered the tunnel. Therefore, Josh's Mum remarried to Liev, Josh's step-father. Josh hated Liev. He felt that Liev took too much credit for bringing him up and that Liev continuously acted as if he was Josh's dad, when he was only a step-father. Josh was forbidden to go anywhere near The Wall. Josh turned into a troubled and terrified boy as the days he was on the wrong side of The Wall passed.
It is a book that is not for the faint-hearted reader who isn't interested in adventure and action. It is a book that can actually be quite scary at times, mainly because the brilliant author William Sutcliffe hooks you in the book so much that it makes you feel that you are Joshua and you are experiencing the same problems that Joshua faces.

This is why The Wall is a great book! It is targeted for young adults, aged around 13 years old.

William Sutcliffe tells the story in a lot of different ways, showing variety. The scene where Liev finds out that Joshua has been going to the tunnel to get to the other side of The Wall makes the reader feel so sorry for Josh and Leia's (the girl who Josh met on the other side of The Wall) father when Liev points at him and punches Liev's step-son on the face.

The Wall has affected Joshua in many ways, including a drop in grades. However, his mother always stayed at Josh's side despite whatever happened outside their house.

The Wall is a gripping and an action-packed book!

Watch Dogs Review

Image result for pegi 18WATCH_DOGS REVIEW

Watch dogs (often stylised as Watch_Dogs) is a PEGI 18 rated game published by Ubisoft. It is a game set in modern day times in the outskirts of Chicago;  it is about hacking- in the opening scene it refers to hackers as modern day magicians. The hero, Aiden Pearce, is an empty trenchcoat as far as personality goes. It’s remarked at one point that he’s suppressing his personality, so it must be intentional, but it doesn’t make him a strong character. Fortunately the supporting cast is much more interesting. An enthusiastic and cavalier fixer, a gang leader who I affectionately refer to as Avon Barksdale: Superhacker, and a soft-spoken mob boss steal the show and make it a likeable and well-acted group. Character animations are elegantly done, too.
Watch Dogs blends cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated game design into a realistic and living open world where players must use any means at their disposal to take down a corrupt system.
Watch Dogs’ completely open map is another big strength: it’s huge, diverse, and intricately detailed. The rural area of Pawnee balances out Chicago’s urban sprawl, and it all looks great, especially at sunset or during a rainstorm. Everything runs at a smooth 30 frames per second, however, after playing for a few hours I did start to experience frequent slowdowns when new mission objectives were loading up. Fortunately they never happened when anything interesting was going on, but they’re definitely noticeable and get progressively worse as the story goes on.
Watch dogs has an immense diversity of vehicles that you can easily drive; there are also many missions to play. The main story line (no spoilers are coming) is that Aiden Pierce's niece was murdered by someone and he wants to get back at that person. However, it is not as simple as it sounds, there are many other twists and turns during the game with many other side missions as well.
Watch dogs also provides a great chance of playing online (unfortunately it can't do offline multiplayer) multiplayer against your friends and other players. You can race, hack and loads more. It is a great game!

Crossy Road Review

CROSSY ROAD
Crossy Road is an app on the App Store (for ios), Google Play Store (for Android) and Windows Store. It is rated 9+ on the App Store due to fantasy violence and infrequent swearing. It is about a chicken (but later on one can unlock more characters) who has to cross many roads and rivers. However, it is not as boring as it sounds. In fact, it can get really addictive!
It was released on November 20, 2014 developed by the indie company Hipster Whale. The question of the game is: Why did the chicken cross the road? There are 89 characters to unlock on Crossy Road, 78 which are unlockable from the prize machine (where you have to pay 100 coins to unlock a random character), and 11 that are Secret Characters which can only be unlocked through various unique methods, like running into them while playing.
